Unique Metal Sculpture by Graham Hawkins
“Steelquirks” describes Graham’s work perfectly; hand-crafted in steel with a quirky twist in construction, form or theme.
Graham spent much of his youth around art and more specifically sculpture, helping his Father who worked at Bath Academy of Art.
After a career in IT, he returned to art as a purely personal pastime, creating metal sculptures using skills learned over 30 years ago. As the sculptures filled his home and garden he was encouraged to share his work with a wider audience.
Having had no formal art education beyond A level, Graham feels no restrictions as to what or how he should make things and does not feel the need to pursue a single direction.
When asked what inspires him, Graham’s usual reply is “anything and everything”. He’s even been known to pause the TV to take a photo of something which catches his eye and sparks his imagination.

Time is flying by and we are into June already.
This means that the Cotswold Sculptors Association annual show, Creating Spaces, is now under way at Miserden, Glos.
My piece 'I Wanna Be...' can be found in the Shubbery. On the right as you enter the garden through the wrought iron gates. I'm also happy to say it sold within four days of the exhibition opening.
The gardens are beautiful, and well worth a visit, especially with 140 or so sculptures on display.
My piece #NOTAFISH is also out and about. He's currently on display in the Little Gallery Marlborough as part of the MOS 2025 preview show.
